Mongolia, known for its heavy reliance on coal, is increasingly inclined to transition towards renewable energy. As of 2023, renewable sources account for 8.1% of Mongolia's total energy production, showcasing the country's untapped potential in wind, geothermal, hydro, and solar energy, estimated at approximately 2,500 GW.

OLOLT Center is the first Mongolian organization to join the GRI Community

To provide internationally aligned sustainability reporting services, the OLOLT Center has become the first Mongolian member of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Community. Recognized for its commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing climate change and promoting sustainable development, the OLOLT Center's achievement signifies a noteworthy step forward. In a landscape where Mongolian businesses are increasingly compelled to address their environmental and social impacts, this entry into the GRI Community is crucial. It represents a commitment to establishing robust ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and sustainability reporting practices aligned with both national and international standards. Leveraging this membership, the OLOLT Center is positioned to guide Mongolian enterprises towards a sustainable trajectory, elevating reporting quality, accountability, and fostering the adoption of sustainable policies and actions in line with the GRI standards.

Advisory meeting on “ the Article VI of the Paris Agreement and carbon evaluation mechanism”

The OLOLT Center, in collaboration with the Office of the President, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, and the Asia-Pacific Regional Cooperation Center of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, organized a consultation meeting on "CHAPTER 6 OF THE PARIS AGREEMENT AND CARBON EVALUATION MECHANISM" on May 24-25, 2023. The objective of this meeting was to disseminate knowledge and insights regarding economic instruments such as carbon market pricing and international trading of carbon reduction credits to Mongolian government bodies, aiming to bolster efforts in aligning with the objectives of the Paris Agreement.

The OLOLT Center took part in the 6th national conference themed "CURRENT STATUS AND FUTURE TRENDS OF FOREST RESTORATION IN MONGOLIA," held on the occasion of the World Anniversary Day.
